The team finished 2023 on a high note as they won 1:0 over the visiting Australians. Quinn scored the lone goal, notching their sixth goal for Canada. The final match also served as Christine Sinclair and Sophie Schmidt’s final match for Canada. It was a moving night as Canada bid farewell to its talismanic captain, and paid tribute to both Schmidt and Erin McLeod.

The draw for the W Gold Cup was also held. Canada will be in Group C, facing Costa Rica, Paraguay, and either El Salvador or Guatemala, whoever wins their qualifier. The competition will take place in the United States in February and March 2024.
Australia
Lysianne Proulx was in net for Melbourne City in their 1:3 loss against Perth Glory.
Denmark
Emma Regan is still injured and did not feature for HB Køge in their 0:0 draw with Fortuna Hjørring.
England

Adriana Leon did not play for Aston Villa as they lost 1:2 to Manchester City. There was a Canadian clash at the top of the WSL table between Chelsea and Arsenal. The Gunners prevailed 4:1 over Chelsea. For Arsenal, Sabrina D’Angelo was on the bench, and Cloé Lacasse played the final fourteen minutes. For Chelsea, Jessie Fleming played the entire match and earned the assist on the Blues’ lone goal. Kadeisha Buchanan and Ashley Lawrence both entered the match at the start of the second half, likely to shore up Chelsea’s shaky defence. Deanne Rose is still injured and did not play for Leicester City in their 2:2 draw with Brighton. Finally, Shelina Zadorsky and Jayde Riviere both earned the start for Tottenham and Manchester United as they faced off. They both played the full match as United took all three points with a 4-0 win.

France
Vanessa Gilles was an unused substitute for Lyon in their 5:0 win over Lille. Latifah Abdu played twenty minutes for Dijon in their 1:0 win over Bordeaux.
Italy
Both Canadians were injured and not included in their clubs’ squads. Julia Grosso’s Juventus won 4:0 over Pomigliano Calcio, and Evelyne Viens’ Roma triumphed 2:1 over AC Milan.
Portugal
Marie-Yasmine Alidou had a great match for Benfica in their win in the third round of the Taca da Liga Feminina. Alidou entered the match around the sixty-minute mark, and scored two goals in the team’s 6:0 win. Olivia Smith is still injured and was not available for Sporting CP in their 4:2 win over Amora.
