UWCL

This week the first leg of the quarter finals of the UWCL took place. Chelsea beat Ajax 3-0—Kadeisha Buchanan played the full game and Ashley Lawrence came on as a sub in the 73rd minute. Lyon and Vanessa Gilles are up against fellow Canadian Marie Alidou and Benfica. Gilles and Alidou both played the full game, with Lyon coming away with a 2-1 win.

Clarissa Larisey played 67 minutes for BK Häcken in their 2-1 loss to PSG.

NWSL

In the NWSL, Kailen Sheridan and the San Diego Wave played their first regular season game. The Wave lost 2-1 to the Kansas City Current. Kailen Sheridan was in net for the Wave, while Desiree Scott and Nichelle Prince were both unavailable for the Current due to injury.

Orlando Pride played Angel City, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Amanda Allen came on as a second half substitute in the 66th minute for the Pride. Megan Reid was unavailable for Angel City.

Despite a strong showing last week, the North Carolina Courage fell 2-1 to the Utah Royals. Bianca St-George came on in the 63rd minute and Sydney Collins was unavailable due to her ankle injury.

The Reign duo of Jordyn Huitema and Quinn both started in their 2-1 loss to the Chicago Red Stars. Huitema played 81 minutes and Quinn played the entire match. Lysianne Proulx was in net for the Bay’s 2-1 loss to the Washington Spirit. Gabrielle Carle had the start for the Spirit and played the full game.

Sophie Schmidt had a strong performance for the Houston Dash in their 0-0 draw to Racing Louisville. Allysha Chapman was unavailable as she remains on maternity leave.

The Portland Thorns lost their second game in a 1-0 defeat to Gotham FC in their home opener. Janine Beckie had her first start after her ACL injury and played 63 minutes, when she was subbed out for Christine Sinclair. Jessie Fleming had the start and played 77 minutes.

WSL

Manchester United lost 3-1 to Manchester City this week. In what continues to be a bad string of luck for Jayde Riviere, she was forced off in the 57th minute due to injury. There’s no news yet as to what her injury is, but hopefully it’s not too serious.

Deanne Rose had the start for Leicester City and played 63 minutes. Leicester City lost 3-2 to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Chelsea came away with a 2-0 win against West Ham on Sunday. Kadeisha Buchanan and Ashley Lawrence both played the full game for Chelsea while Shelina Zadorsky played the entire game for West Ham.

Adriana Leon’s Aston Villa fell 1-3 to Arsenal. Adriana Leon had the start and the assist on Villa’s lone goal, and was subbed off during injury time. Cloe Lacasse had the start for Arsenal and was subbed off in the 65th minute. Sabrina D’Angelo remained on the bench as the back-up keeper.

France

Vanessa Gilles played 62 minutes for Lyon in their 7-0 win against LOSC Lille. Latifah Abdu played the second half for Dijon in their 2-0 win over Guingamp.

Portugal

Olivia Smith continued her scoring streak this week, scoring two goals in Sporting’s 4-1 win against Famalicão. Olivia Smith had the start and played the full game.

Marie Alidou had the start and scored one goal for Benfica in their 4-1 win against Braga.

Melissa Dagenais was in net for Damaiense in their 4-1 win over Maritimo.

Sweden

The Svenska Cupen Group Stage wrapped up this week. Clarissa Larisey had the start and was subbed off in the 46th minute in BK Häcken’s 7-2 win over Kristianstads. BK Häcken top their group and move on to the semi-finals.

Sura Yekka had the start and played the full 90 for Djurgården in their 2-2 draw against AIK. Unfortunately, the draw was not enough, Djurgården finished last in their group and won’t move on.

Denmark

Emma Regan played the full 90 for HB Køge in their 1-0 loss to FC Nordsjaeland in the second round of the Kvindeligaen Championship group stage.

Italy

In Italy, the Serie A Championship Group Round 2 took place. Evelyne Viens played 61 minutes and earned one assist for Roma in their 3-0 win over Sassuolo.
