Canada
The U20 Women’s World Cup kicked off, with Canada opening their group stage with a 3-3 draw against France. Jeneva Harnandez Gray played 87 minutes, Olivia Smith played 69 minutes and had the assist on the second goal, and Annabelle Chukwu came on for the final 27 minutes and scored the goal to earn the draw.
England – WSL
Leicester City and West Ham (along with Manchester City and PSG) travelled to Australia to take part in a two game friendly series. In Leicester City’s first game, Deanne Rose came on in the second half in the 0-0 draw against Manchester United. Leicester would lose on penalties, with Rose converting hers. Shelina Zadorsky had the start and played the full 90 for West Ham in their 1-0 loss to PSG.

The two losses meant that we would get a Canadian Clash in the final game, which saw Leicester City win 5-2 over West Ham. Zadorsky played the full 90 for West Ham and Rose came on for the second half for Leicester City.
Aston Villa had a friendly against Charlton – Adriana Leon played the first half and scored a goal, while Sabrina D’Angelo served as backup keeper. The game would go to penalties after ending 2-2.
USA – NWSL
The Thorns lost 3-1 to Bay FC; Jessie Fleming played 85 minutes and Christine Sinclair was an unused sub.

After a lengthy weather delay, the Seattle Reign came from behind to defeat Racing Louisville 3-2. For the Reign, Quinn played 70 minutes and Jordyn Huitema played the full game. Janine Beckie played the final 28 minutes for Louisville.

The Utah Royals defeated the Houston Dash 3-1. Cloé Lacasse played 62 minutes and earned the penalty for the Royal’s second goal. For the Dash, Sophie Schmidt played 62 minutes and Allysha Chapman was an unused sub.

Bianca St-Georges returned from injury and played the final 29 minutes for the North Carolina Courage in their 2-1 win over the Kansas City Current. For the Current, Nichelle Prince played 68 minutes and Desiree Scott played the final 22. Angel City won 2-1 over the Chicago Red Stars – Megan Reid played the full game for Angel City and Julia Grosso played 86 minutes for the Red Stars.
Kailen Sheridan was in net for the San Diego Wave in their 1-1 draw with the Washington Spirit. Gabrielle Carle came off the bench in the 79th minute for the Spirit.
USA – NCAA

Jade Rose played the full 90 for Harvard in their two games this week, a 0-0 draw with Massachusetts and a 4-0 win over Northeastern.
Laurence Gladu was in net for USC in their 2-1 win over Portland. Anna Karpenko was in net for 33 minutes for Georgetown in their 6-0 win over Lafayette.
Annabelle Chukwu’s college team, Notre Dame, won both of their games this week. The team would defeat Michigan 2-0 and then Butler 1-0. Chukwu was unavailable for both teams as she is currently with the U20 National Team.
Portugal – LIGA BPI
Marie Alidou played the full 90 for Benfica in their 2-1 win over Torreensee. Melissa Dagenais was not available for Damaiense in their 2-0 loss to Valadares.
France – DIV 1
Vanessa Gilles was an unused sub for Lyon in their friendly against Madrid CFF, Lyon won the game 2-0.
Sweden – Damallsvenskan
Clarissa Larisey played the second half for BK Häcken in their 0-0 daw with Piteå IF.
Denmark – Kvindeligaen
Emma Regan played the full 90 for HB Køge in their 1-0 loss to OB Q.
Italy – Serie A
Lysianne Proulx was available as a backup keeper for her new club Juventus in their 6-3 win over Sassuolo. Evelyne Viens was an unused sub for Roma in their 2-2 draw with Lazio.
Player of the Week: Annabelle Chukwu for her goal in the 84th minute to earn a draw for Canada.
