CanWNT Roster Drop & News

This week, the first CanWNT roster since the Olympics was released. The roster remained fairly unchanged from the Olympics; new players will likely be brought in after the coaching debacle is settled. Desiree Scott was not named to the roster (see below) and Quinn, Sydney Collins, and Jayde Riviere were not eligible for contention due to injury. Emma Regan and Olivia Smith were called up to the roster as non-Olympic names. Cloé Lacasse was initially named, but has since sustained an injury; Marie Alidou has been called in as her replacement.

This marks a year since Melissa Dagenais and Annabelle Chukwu were called up to the senior national team, so we will cease match-day coverage until they are called up again. We hope to see them both soon, and know there is a bright future ahead for both!

On Thursday, Desiree Scott announced her retirement from professional soccer at the end of this NWSL season. We thank her for everything she did for Canada, and we can’t wait to see how she continues to be involved in the sport.

For the Thorns, Sinclair and Fleming both started. Fleming played the full match, and Sinclair was subbed off in the 62nd minute.
