In the first NSL match-up of the week, AFC Toronto and Ottawa Rapid played to a 1-1 draw. Emma Regan played the full match for Toronto, and Desiree Scott played 68 minutes for Ottawa.

In their second game of the week, Ottawa was able to win all three points, beating Montreal Roses 2-0. Scott was on the bench for Ottawa, whereas Latifah Abdu played the entire match for Montreal. AFC Toronto was not so lucky, losing 1-0 to Vancouver Rise despite having a player advantage for most of the game. Regan once again played the full match for Toronto; for Vancouver, Samantha Chang, Quinn, and Holly Ward all started, with Chang and Ward going the distance. Quinn was subbed off in the 58th minute due to a head injury.

Sweden

Carly Wickenheiser played 81 minutes for BK Häcken in their 5-0 win over Växjö DFF.

USA – NCAA

This past Thursday, the 2025 NCAA season kicked off. We are tracking six recent call-ups who are currently playing at the NCAA level: Janet Okeke (Florida State University), Annabelle Chukwu (Notre Dame), Nyah Rose (Southern Methodist University), Ella Ottey (University of Wisconsin), and Kayla Briggs and Noelle Henning (both at Michigan State University). First, Okeke played 71 minutes as she and Florida State beat rivals University of Florida 5-0. Chukwu also started her season with a win as Notre Dame played to a 2-1 win over Western Michigan; she played 67 minutes. Ottey had a strong start, earning an assist in 67 minutes of play in Wisconsin’s 3-1 win against Milwaukee.

Henning and Briggs both played the full match for MSU in a 1-1 draw with Colorado. Unfortunately, N. Rose and SMU lost 2-0 to Wake Forest in their season opener. N. Rose played 75 minutes.

All teams also played on Sunday. Ottey played 80 minutes for Wisconsin in their narrow 1-0 victory over UIC. For Michigan State, Briggs played 71 minutes in their 0-0 draw with Dayton; Henning remained on the bench for this fixture. Florida State won 2-0 over FIU, with Okeke playing 20 minutes. Finally, Chukwu played 74 minutes for Notre Dame in a 2-2 draw with Arkansas, and N. Rose played 61 minutes in a 2-0 win over Northwestern State.

To kick off the weekend’s NWSL action, Washington Spirit and Racing Louisville played to a 2-2 draw, with Washington scoring an equalizer at the end of the match. For Washington, Gabby Carle played 86 minutes, and for Louisville, Janine Sonis played the full match. Utah Royals and Angel City FC were also at a deadlock at the end of ninety minutes; this time, it was a scoreless one. For Utah, both Cloé Lacasse and Bianca St-Georges entered in the 59th minute. Megan Reid was an unused substitute for Angel City.

In the first of two matches that underwent a weather delay, the match between Kansas City Current and Orlando Pride also finished in a scoreless draw. Nichelle Prince entered in the 62nd minute for Kansas City, and Zara Chavoshi was unavailable for the Pride due to a hip injury. Continuing the trend, Portland Thorns and North Carolina Courage played to a 1-1 result. Jessie Fleming played the full match for Portland, but Marie Alidou remained on the Thorns’ bench.

San Diego Wave were able to win their match 2-1 over Bay FC. Adriana Leon played 82 minutes for the Wave, earning one assist and setting up the other goal; Kailen Sheridan was in net. On the other side of the country, Houston Dash were able to win 2-1 against Gotham FC. Clarissa Larisey did not feature for Houston, but was available off the bench, a first at her new club. In the last match of the week, Chicago Red Stars came from behind to draw 3-3 with Seattle Reign. Julia Grosso played the full match for Chicago, and Jordyn Huitema played 66 minutes for Seattle, scoring one goal and assisting another.
