Canada

The last week of the NSL’s first-ever regular season came to a close this week. Desiree Scott started for Ottawa, playing 68 minutes as they won 2-1 over Halifax. Vancouver lost their last regular season match by a scoreline of 2-1 at the hands of Calgary. Holly Ward, Samantha Chang, and Latifah Abdu all started for Vancouver; Chang played 70 minutes, and Ward and Abdu played the full match. Quinn came on at the start of the second half. In the last match of the week, Toronto won 2-1 over Montreal. Once again, Emma Regan played the full match for Toronto. Kaylee Hunter, while initially named to Toronto’s starting XI, was removed from the lineup after warm-ups. After the match, as AFC Toronto captain, Regan lifted the Supporters’ Shield with her team as they celebrated winning the NSL regular season.

Confederation Play – Europa Cup

Jeneva Hernandez Gray entered in the 86th minute for Sporting CP in their 2-2 draw with FC Rosengård. They advance 5-2 on aggregate to the next phase of the tournament. Carly Wickenheiser and BK Häcken won 3-1 over GKS Katowice; Wickenheiser started and played 63 minutes. The Swedish side advance 7-1 on aggregate.

Confederation Play – CONCACAF W Champions Cup

After being rested in their last match, Gabby Carle played the full game for Washington Spirit in their 4-0 win over Monterrey. Zara Chavoshi was unavailable for Orlando Pride as they tied 1-1 with Pachuca. The Pride are now eliminated from the competition.

Confederation Play – UWCL

Ashley Lawrence started the match for OL Lyonnes against SKN St. Pölten, playing 64 minutes in their 3-0 win. Roma and Evelyne Viens didn’t fare as well; Viens played 59 minutes as they lost 4-0 to Barcelona. Manchester United won 1-0 over Atletico Madrid. Jayde Riviere played the full match, and Simi Awujo was an unused substitute.

Both Canadians who play for Bayern and Juventus—Vanessa Gilles and Lysianne Proulx—were unavailable for their UWCL match. Bayern won 2-1 over the Italian side. PSG lost 2-1 against Real Madrid; Florianne Jourde entered in the 81st minute. Lastly, Olivia Smith played 70 minutes for Arsenal in their 2-0 win over Benfica.

England

This week, the second round of the Women’s League Cup group stage took place. Deanne Rose is likely unavailable with injury for another six weeks; she missed out as Nottingham Forest lost on penalties to Everton after ending regular time by a score of 1-1. Jade Rose played 64 minutes for Manchester City in their 3-3 draw with Newcastle United; they won on penalty kicks to secure the extra point. Sabrina D’Angelo served as backup keeper for Aston Villa as they won comfortably over Bristol City by a scoreline of 3-0.

France

Marie Levasseur played the full match for Montpellier in their 3-1 win over Lens. OL Lyonnes won handily over Nantes by a 6-1 scoreline. Lawrence was unavailable for Lyonnes, and Emily Burns was in net for Nantes. Finally, Jourde earned the start for PSG, playing 77 minutes in their 1-0 win over Strasbourg.

Germany

Gilles was ruled out with injury for Bayern in their 5-1 win over FC Köln.

Italy

Viens earned an assist and played the full match for Roma in their 3-1 win over SSD Napoli. Proulx was unavailable for Juventus as they won 1-0 against Lazio.

Portugal

Hernandez Gray entered in the 67th minute for Sporting CP in their 1-1 draw with Rio Wave in the Taça da Liga.

Sweden

Wickenheiser scored a goal in 80 minutes of play for BK Häcken in their 6-0 win over Brommapojkarna.

USA – NCAA

Janet Okeke played the full match for Florida State in their 2-1 loss to Stanford, and then did the same on Sunday as they tied Cal 2-2. Michigan State fared better, winning both of their games this week. Their first match was a 2-0 win over Indiana. Kayla Briggs and Noelle Henning both played the full match, with Briggs scoring a goal and Henning earning the clean sheet. MSU won their second game 5-1 against Illinois. Briggs played 72 minutes and scored again, this time from the spot, and Henning was in net. Ella Ottey played the full match for Wisconsin in their 1-0 win over Oregon, and once again played 90 minutes as they lost 1-0 to Washington. Lastly, Nyah Rose did not feature for SMU as they lost 3-0 to North Carolina.

USA – NWSL

Sydney Collins played all 90 minutes for Bay FC as they lost 4-1 to North Carolina. Seattle Reign clinched a play-off spot this weekend with a 2-1 win over Utah Royals. Jordyn Huitema was ruled out due to illness for the Reign, and St-Georges played 86 minutes for Utah. San Diego Wave also clinched a play-off spot with a 6-1 victory over Chicago Stars. Kailen Sheridan was in net for the Wave, and Adriana Leon entered in the 81st minute, earning an assist in her short time on the pitch. For Chicago, Julia Grosso started and played 53 minutes.

Portland Thorns also clinched their spot with a 2-0 win over Angel City. Jessie Fleming played the full match for the Thorns; Mimi Alidou and Megan Reid were unused substitutes for the Thorns and Angel City, respectively.

Unfortunately, Racing Louisville will have to wait until decision day to confirm their spot in the post-season after playing to a 2-2 draw with Gotham. Janine Sonis scored a goal for Louisville and played the full match.

After their earlier matches in the CONCACAF W Champions Cup, Orlando beat Washington 3-2. Chavoshi entered in the 76th minute for Orlando, and Carle came on in the 58th minute for the Spirit.

The Houston Dash managed to defeat Shield winners KC Current by a score of 1-0. Clarissa Larisey came off the bench in the 66th minute for the Dash, and Nichelle Prince entered in the 29th minute for the Current.
