Canada
The 2025 year ended not with a bang but with a whimper. Canada ended the year with another set of losses, this time falling 3-0 and 1-0 to Japan. The team has now failed to score in its last 5 games, and this marks the first time since 2005 that Canada has lost five games in a row. Let’s hope the new year is better.

Though she was named to the roster, DB Pridham was ineligible to play this window as she has yet to receive her Canadian passport. Pridham has dual citizenship as she was born in the States to Canadian parents – she travelled to Japan with her American passport.
USA – NCAA
Kayla Briggs and Noelle Henning failed to advance to the NCAA Championship Semi-Finals, losing 5-1 to Stanford. Briggs played the full game and Henning was in net.

France – Première Ligue
Florianne Jourde was unavailable for PSG in their 5-1 win over Marseille. Ashley Lawrence played the second half for OL Lyonnes in their 3-0 win over Dijon Foot. In a Canadian Clash, Emily Burns’ Nantes defeated Marie Levasseur’s Montepellier 2-1. Burns was in net for Nantes and Levasseur played the full game for Montpellier.
Germany – Bundesliga
Bayern München defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 5-0; Vanessa Gilles played the final 14 minutes.
England – WSL/WSL2
Olivia Smith had the start for Arsenal and scored one goal, subbing out in injury time. Arsenal won 2-1 over Liverpool. Jade Rose had the start and played the full game for Manchester City in their 3-0 win over Leicester City.

Manchester United defeated West Ham 2-1. Jayde Riviere played 77 minutes and Simi Awujo entered in the 83rd minute. Shelina Zadorsky was unavailable for West Ham. Sabrina D’Angelo was in net for Aston Villa in their 2-1 loss to Tottenham. Deanne Rose played the final 29 minutes for Nottingham Forest in their 3-1 win over Sunderland.
Italy – Serie A
Evelyne Viens played 60 minutes for Roma in their 1-1 draw with Juventus; Lyisanne Proulx remained unavailable for Juventus due to injury.
Club Friendlies: World Sevens Tournament
AFC Toronto ended their first international tournament third in their group. Toronto lost 3-2 to Club Tigres in their first game; Kaylee Hunter featured and earned an assist. Toronto lost 2-1 to Flamengo on penalties after drawing them 2-2 in regular time. Hunter featured for Toronto, scoring a goal and converting her penalty. NSL Shield Winners AFC Toronto then defeated the NWSL Shield Winners the Kansas City Current 3-2; Kaylee Hunter scored two goals and had the assist on the game winner.
Neither Kailen Sheridan nor Adriana Leon featured in San Diego’s first game, a 3-1 win over Deportivo Cali. San Diego then defeated Club Amèrica 1-0 on penalties after drawing them 0-0; Adriana Leon featured for her team and Kailen Sheridan was an unused sub. The Wave topped their group with a 3-1 win over Nacional; both Kailen Sheridan and Adriana Leon featured for the Wave. The Wave advanced to the finals with a huge 5-1 win over Flamengo; Adriana Leon scored one goal while Kailen Sheridan was an unused sub.

The Wave won the tournament, and two million dollars, with a 3-0 win over Club Tigres. Adriana Leon scored a brace and Kailen Sheridan was once rested.
Nichelle Prince was not with the squad for the KC Current for the World Sevens tournament. The Current finished last in their group, losing 3-2 to Flamengo, then drawing Club Tigres 2-2, losing 2-1 on penalties, and finally falling 3-2 to AFC Toronto.
