About Us

Rise Higher is the brainchild of two (massive) fans of the Canadian Women’s National Soccer Team (CanWNT/CanXNT). Over the years, we have found that there is not one central place for information, news, and statistics about the CanXNT—and only about the CanXNT. We wanted to create a one-stop shop for fans of our national team. It is our hope that Rise Higher will provide fans with everything they could ever want to know about this team and the players. We endeavour to provide current, factual information while projecting line-ups, discussing rosters, and following the players throughout their university and club careers. Across Rise Higher’s website and Twitter/X, you will find in-depth coverage of every player who has been called up to the Senior National Team within the last 12 months.

The CanXNT has provided us with so much joy over the years. It is our hope that we can finally give them the media treatment they deserve us.

Like them, we will Rise Higher.

Laura’s first memory of watching CanXNT is waking up at 5am at the age of twelve to watch them at the Beijing Olympics. That tournament—and the quarter-final loss to the USA in particular—left her with a lifelong passion for the team. Laura has a passion for accurate statistics, empathetic storytelling, and equal coverage of women’s sports. Ontario-born and Alberta-bred, Laura now lives in the Toronto area.

As a child Molly (unfortunately) idolized the USWNT players as there was just not enough coverage of the CanXNT. Now as an avid fan of the CanXNT and an aunt to two nieces and two nephews, her goal is to make the CanXNT more accessible for everyone. Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Molly currently lives in Saskatoon.
