Unfortunately, it was the news all Canadians feared as Jordyn Huitema and the Chicago Stars announced that the forward tore her ACL in Chicago’s game last week and will be out for the foreseeable future. We wish Huitema a speedy recovery, and we can’t wait to see her back on the field for Canada and Chicago.

Canada – NSL

Ottawa Rapid defeated Calgary Wild 2-1; DB Pridham played 77 minutes, and Melissa Dagenais was in net. 

For the first time since signing for their new teams, Sabrina D’Angelo, Shelina Zadorsky, and Mimi Alidou were available for selection, and all three made their debuts. Sabrina D’Angelo was in net and kept the clean sheet for Toronto in their 2-0 win. Shelina Zadorsky and Kaylee Hunter both played the full game for Toronto, with the latter contributing a goal and an assist in the win. Mimi Alidou played 58 minutes for Montréal.

USA – NWSL

Bay FC suffered a 1-0 loss to the Houston Dash; Sydney Collins started the game and was subbed off in the 93rd minute, and Brooklyn Courtnall played the full game. Orlando Pride came away with a 1-0 win over Chicago Stars; Zara Chavoshi played the full game for the Pride. For Chicago, Huitema was unavailable due to her injury, and Julia Grosso was back from her concussion protocol and entered in the 62nd minute. 

Jessie Fleming played the full game and scored her first goal of the season for Portland in their 2-2 draw with Gotham. Utah Royals continued their impressive form this season with a huge 4-1 win over North Carolina Courage. Cloé Lacasse played the full game and had a goal and an assist for the Royals while Kailen Sheridan was in net for the Courage. Carly Wickenheiser was an unused substitute for the Courage. 

Adriana Leon got her first minutes of this season when she entered in the 68^th minute for the San Diego Wave in their 2-0 loss to the Seattle Reign. Holly Ward played the final two minutes for the Reign. 

In the last game of the week, Washington Spirit defeated Denver Summit 1-0. For the Spirit, Gabby Carle played the full game, and Élisabeth Tsé entered in the 76th minute. For the Summit, Janine Sonis played the full game, and Megan Reid and Emma Regan both played the final 6 minutes.
